I am sure I am not the only one, but lately I have seen a number of my clients with increased emotional and physical stresses. These have increased considerably with Covid as we all deal with various issues. Stresses have arisen from loss of income, jobs, business, illness, isolation from family, deadlines, and so the list goes on.
I have clients that have been fortunate where family or friends have noticed the difficulties they are enduring and have intervened realising that their loved ones are needing some time out to relax and to recharge. Gift Vouchers from me have been a popular choice for a treatment on their behalf. Other times it has been clients having the realisation that they need some ‘time out’ to themselves to relax and recentre their minds.
Often is not until the client is here that they find their “gift” treatment is not quite right for their needs, or for others, what they thought they wanted would not be best for them. This is why I like to do a consultation at the beginning of any treatment, to find out what is happening in my client’s world. Don't get me wrong.....it is always up to the client to decide their treatment, but I will advise and give guidance on recommended treatments depending on the client.
For example a recent client received a gift voucher for a facial. On her arrival I could immediately see how stressed and out of sorts she was. Then she told me what had been happening over the last month. Without going into her specifics, I discussed the benefits of perhaps changing to an Aromatherapy Massage as a stress reliever instead of the facial. She had not thought about a different treatment and after a little reflection she asked if I had time to do both. She then spent a wonderful afternoon enjoying a Lemongrass foot soak, Aromatherapy Massage and Facial. This followed with a beautiful herbal tea while discussing after care. The change in this client was truly amazing as I saw her leave a different person!
However, it’s not only women going through stressful times but our men too, and we also have treatments tailored for them like a craft beer foot soak and pedicure where they also get to drink the unused beer (always a bonus for them!)
When we discuss aftercare, we look at various suggestions for continued wellbeing, and if the client is open to it we can put a plan into action with follow-up by me should they want it.
Aqua & Marines cottage is a quiet place where my clients can just sit or lie back and take time out to themselves while having their treatments without being rushed. If they want to talk during their session that is perfectly fine or if they just want some peace and quiet that is quite ok too.
Booking an appointment is discussed and arranged between the client and myself, and I do make times available outside the usual weekday times, for early evening or weekend provided adequate notice is given. Full day or half day appointments, with a catered lunch, can be arranged also.
On a final note....Be kind to yourselves and take time to look after YOU!
